Wednesday 15th September 2010
Due to popular demand Michelle Bihary has developed an Advanced Professional Supervision Skills Workshop: It includes contracting and reviewing in supervision, advanced supervision skills, including using a broad range of practical interventions, used in supervision. It is suitable for those who have completed the Professional Supervision workshop with Michelle previously.
The Advanced Supervision Workshop provides supervisors an opportunity to further enhance their supervisory skills. This workshop builds on promoting empowered confident supervisors and supervisees, positive supervisory relationships and facilitates enhanced learning and skill development. The focus for this course is on providing the skills of professional and clinical supervision through deepening the experience.
This workshop blends theory with practical experience, is highly interactive and relevant to experienced supervisors who wish to enhance their supervision skills. Key Learning Objectives of the workshop: • To present and apply a range of practical approaches to developing a solid and directed supervisory relationship through a focus on contracting, reviewing and evaluation of supervision • To focus on specific skills and interventions that enrich supervision practice including therapeutic interventions, communication skills, emotional intelligence, solution oriented and strength based approaches • To provide participants with practical opportunities to observe or participate in a non-clinically oriented supervision session facilitated by Michelle to expand their repertoire of interventions in the supervisory process. • To examine some of the interpersonal dynamics that arise within the supervisory relationship, including parallel processes, unconscious processes, and how to work with these. • To examine some of the most challenging supervisory situations and how to deal with them, this will also enable participants to bring their own situations for discussion
