ESTABLISHING PRIVATE PRACTICE WITHOUT SELLING YOUR SOUL
Next Workshop: Wednesday 25th August 2010
Are you a health professional considering the transition into private practice?
Or do you want to further consolidate your private practice?
As familiar as our professional roles are, health professionals can be reluctant entrepreneurs. The challenge is to develop the business savvy required, whilst maintaining professional integrity. Altruistic motivations often inspire our career choice. Shifting into the business world is daunting and requires more than developing a few business skills. It requires building a vision and infrastructure to support clinical work, as well as a level of self-confidence that can tolerate the natural ebb and flow of private practice. Traditional forms of business training often promote skills and strategies that are at odds with our professional values.
This workshop will outline the skills necessary for beginning or consolidating a successful business. Valuing professional, social and spiritual capital, as well as financial success forms the basis for this process.
Key elements of the workshop will include: • Practice building skills; • Business visioning and planning; • Promotion and marketing; • Practical strategies for business in the current context; • Dealing with fees and money • Building a support structure and accessing resources for business success.
A comprehensive workbook will be provided, including an extensive resource list and many practice building tips and checklists that can be used immediately to work on your business.
Testimonial: The best course I have ever attended! Fantastic presenter. Very well prepared and love the personal insights into own practice. Would love to attend more of Michelle’s workshops. Found the questioning (self reflecting) very helpful. Gains from the course: Alignment of philosophy and values with marketing strategy.
