Professional Supervision Skills: This workshop blends theory with practical experience, is highly interactive and relevant to anyone in a supervisory role, from student supervisor to manager to external consultant. This workshop has evolved over a number of years and has been delivered in Victoria and New South Wales.
Learning Objectives of the workshop: · To present and apply a range of practical frameworks and approaches to professional and clinical supervision practice that promote empowered confident supervisees, positive supervisory relationships and facilitate enhanced learning and skill development. · To provide participants with practical opportunities to observe or participate in a non clinically oriented supervision session facilitated by Michelle to expand their repertoire of interventions in the supervisory process. · To draw on skills and interventions that enrich supervision practice including therapeutic interventions, communication skills, emotional intelligence, solution oriented and strength based approaches · To examine how supervision fits into the workplace context and in particular, its relationship to professional sustainability and burnout prevention, professional development, performance appraisal and line management
As well as running this workshop through The Delta Centre, Michelle delivers workshops directly to many workplaces on the topic of supervision, including presentations for supervisees on Getting the most out of Supervision, Contracting for Supervision, Supervision and Advanced Supervision Skills. In addition Michelle was contracted by the WA, SA and NT Departments of Health in 2009, to develop a self directed learning package which has been rolled out specifically for rural and remote health professionals.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations may be received in writing up to 2 weeks ahead. If you need to cancel up until that time, you will receive a refund less a 25 % processing fee. Cancellations cannot be accepted within one week of the course, but you can give your place to a colleague. Michelle Bihary has been a sought after supervisor since 1987. She provides supervision to a wide range of health, mental health and welfare professionals. She works with professionals form the level of new graduates, to the CEO level. Michelle works with professionals looking to build clinical skills in the mental health area, in particular therapeutic skills, such as individual, couple and family therapy skills, case management and skills for working in the mental health system. Michelle has extensive training and experience in a broad range of psychotherapeutic and systemic approaches. As well as the clinical perspective, Michelle is especially interested in the broader aspect of professional life. She has developed specialised programs for GPs and other health professionals in the area of professional self care and sustainability. She is keen for supervisees to utilise supervision to address the broader profession issues about thriving in organisational life and developing the broader range of professional skills that support our clinical practice.
Michelle supervises between 30 - 40 health professionals on an individual basis. As well as this, Michelle provides group supervision and consultations for various organisations, and also supervises professionals from South Australia and New South Wales.
Michelle has a warm, respectful and engaging manner and is able to establish good rapport with a variety of groups. She has synthesized the wisdom of 28 years of practice, with professional and personal development, and uses these to inspire and motivate others in their professional growth and development. Michelle presents in an interactive style providing a lot of opportunity for discussion, reflection, networking and fun.
